Program Overview: This is a fun and immersive, 3D/2N program in Cusco, Peru.  Through daily workshops and outings with locals, learn the basics of speaking and understanding Quechua! Half of the program will be spent in the Sacred Valley of the Inca’s, and half will take place in Cusco’s fascinating historic center. Participants will enjoy visits to local highlights, and experience a different side of one of South America’s top tourism destinations.
Ayni’s Quechua program focuses primarily on language, with guided visits to the area’s highlights. We’re happy to help plan travel extensions either before or after the program. Popular extensions include Machu Picchu, the Inca Trail, homestays, and remote trekking. Please contact us for details & planning!

Quechua is an ancient indigenous language family spoken in the Andes, including countries such as Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia and Argentina. There are roughly 8-12 million speakers across South America. Â While Quechua has many dialects, our Quechua immersion tours focus on the dialect spoken in the Cuzco region of Peru.
Ayni Peru’s Quechua immersion program begins at the Cusco airport, or your hotel.  From there, depart with your guide to the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas.  After time for lunch, reunite for an overview of the following days and introductory Quechua workshop. Â
After breakfast the following morning, partake in our second Quechua workshop. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Sacred Valley highlights, with fun opportunities to practice what we’ve learned. Early evening return to your cozy Cusco hotel.
On the third and final day of the program, we’ll complete a morning Quechua workshop. From there, explore historic Cusco on foot with your guide. We’ll practice Quechua with Cusco locals and learn about the city’s tremendous history. Afternoon transfer to the Cusco airport.
